My Life right now is all about motherhood and it’s been that way for the past 13 years. I have six amazing kiddos that keep me very busy. Some people have told me that big families keep you young, I can see their point because I’m running around all day; they are my 24 hour gym. Even with all the physical activity they provide, somedays, I feel like I’m pushing 80. So, there’s that.

Juggling Motherhood and paying off Debt!

Honestly, motherhood is one of the most rewarding things about my life but it has also been one of the most challenging. That said, when you add another huge goal such as paying off $288,000 of debt, you have some pretty hard moments. Energy is finite and those two things require a lot of work and discipline. I’m not expecting pity. Life is hard in general for all of us humans. But Being a mom can be pretty tough and then adding other hard goals in the mix, makes for a tired and discouraged mama sometimes. However, I keep going and I keep trying even though there have been many times I wanted to throw in the towel with this whole debt thing.

Finding Joy in the Journey

Happiness is usually rooted in our attitude. I know there are always extenuating circumstances but I feel like if you can’t be happy in your current situation, a new car, a large home, fancy clothes or even paying off all your debt won’t be the magic pill that makes you happy. Going on this debt free journey has really taught me to be content. Along with that, I also have tapped into some serious creativity which really has brought so much joy into my life. Being Creative helps me feel a sense of identity and helps me embrace motherhood.

Circumstances can make life better and solve many problems but our situation doesn’t determine our overall happiness. We choose everyday what makes us happy and I’ll be working on this my whole life.
