Start to boil a pot of water (this will used to blanch the beans)
Meanwhile, chop the beans, dice the garlic and slice the bacon into small strips.
Cook the bacon in a cast iron skillet/ pan. Remove the bacon and place on a plate with a paper-towel. The paper-towel will soak up all the excess fat. Set aside.
One the pot of boiling water has come to a rolling boil, place the beans in the pot for 2-3 minutes and then transfer to a bowl with cold water and ice.
Cook the garlic in the cast iron/ pan with the bacon grease for only a minute or so. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Then add the green beans (strain them from the ice water bath) and cook for a minute. Lastly, stir in the bacon pieces, add a dash of lemon juice and cook for another minute or two. Add salt and pepper then Enjoy!
